The All- New Redesigned 2022 Hyundai Tucson
Posted on May 14, 2021
The Hyundai Tucson is a top-rated compact SUV that combines power under the hood and tech performance. The all-new version has just arrived in our dealership, and it's making a huge splash in the Canadian SUV market.
Striking New Exterior
Hyundai Tucson is taking a different approach in terms of design - the new exterior now comes with angular and sharp styling with plenty of line stripes to catch the eye. The overall design showcases a futuristic look, making the new model stand out from other Hyundai SUVs.
Powerful Gas Engine as Standard
The standard 2022 Tucson comes with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine giving 187 horsepower and 178lb-ft of torque - drivers can choose either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The new powertrain delivers smooth and speedy acceleration, which the suspension handles with great grip and minimal rolling in corners.
Introducing the Tucson Hybrid
But the most exciting feature of the 2022 upgrade is the addition of a new hybrid powertrain. Pairing a 1.6L turbo gas engine with an electric motor, the hybrid produces an extremely zippy 226 horsepower and 265lb-ft of torque, with plenty of twists delivered at low power. The combined output is passed through a six-speed automatic transmission to a standard all-wheel drive fitted with Hyundai's HTRAC system to optimize traction.
This powertrain is truly exceptional in the hybrid arena, providing all the performance of a six-cylinder gas mill at an attractive fuel economy of 6.2L / 100km combined. What's more, the soon-to-arrive plugin hybrid version is expected to deliver even better fuel economy thanks to an increased all-electric range.

Amazing Interior
Step into the Tucson's cabin and thoughts of the exterior's angles fall immediately away. The interior is plush, rounded, and comfortable, with a highly upscale feel. The dashboard is almost wraparound and carries a digital gauge cluster backed up with touch-sensitive controls rather than traditional buttons.
An 8.8" infotainment touchscreen is standard, fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while an optional 10.3" upgrade also adds in-built navigation. SiriusXM satellite radio is an option, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot facility for full connectivity on the go.
Advanced Active Safety
The generous tech provision continues into the safety systems, with standard and available features including:
- Adaptive cruise control with optional lane centring.
- Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
- Lane departure warnings with lane keep assist.
Whether you're looking for the traditional qualities of a gas powertrain or the advanced performance and economy of the new hybrid, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson delivers excellent power and drivability.
