Recently, Hyundai has extinguished almost every member of the Veloster line, leaving only the Veloster N. However, don’t let this bother you, as the N version was always the best of the lineup. The 2022 Hyundai Veloster N follows the same recipe as its previous iterations; nothing was changed from the previous years. The Veloster N remains a serious contender for the best hatchback of 2022 with its 2.0L GDI engine, outputting 275 horsepower.Performance
The 2022 Veloster N, like in past years, is fed by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine that outputs a peak of 275 horsepower. The engine is small yet capable. It holds itself against much more powerful vehicles, hitting 100km/h in a little over five seconds.To get the most out of the engine, Hyundai includes five driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and Custom. The latter allows drivers to customize the car’s setting, including the throttle response, dampers, limited-slip differential, rev-matching, stability control and exhaust.
Exterior
The Veloster N has everything you could ask for in a hatchback: good looks, short wheelbase, low weight and a great road presence. One of the best things about this quirky little car is its signature sky-blue paint job, Performance Blue, which complements the red trims. The 2022 Hyundai Veloster N is also available in Phantom Black, Atlas White, Ignite Flame, Cyber Grey, and Shooting Star colours.As for the wheels, the only option is the base 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with P235/35R19 Pirelli performance tyres. Don’t get us wrong; the wheels look great and are specifically designed for the Veloster N.
Interior
The 2022 Hyundai Veloster N shows us that a low-cost interior doesn’t have to feel dull. The interior features solid construction with several different textures and tactile buttons, adding to its quality feel. You also get a multifunction perforated leather steering wheel and performance bucket seats.The Veloster N can comfortably hold two adult passengers in the back seat despite its smaller size. Even though the small hatch makes the luggage compartment look small, it’s very spacious compared to other hatchbacks of the same segment.
