2022 Hyundai Elantra - Now in Barrhaven
The Hyundai Elantra is a compact sedan that offers a refreshing change of style from the all-conquering SUV format. Debuting back in 1990, the model is now in its seventh generation after decades of refinement, and it continues to be a strong seller in the Canadian market. The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is now available at our Barrhaven dealership, and here are the key highlights of the latest release.
Choice of Powertrains
The regular Hyundai Elantra is available with a choice of three powertrains. First up is a 2.0L gas engine making a healthy 147 horsepower and 132lb-ft of torque, married to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.Moving up a gear, a 1.6L turbo option pushes the output up to 201 horsepower and 195lb-ft, and upgrades the transmission to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic design as standard with a six-speed manual available as an option.
And lastly for the mainstream Elantra range, there's a hybrid powertrain available which couples a 1.6L gas engine with an electric motor to deliver 139 horsepower at a dramatically lower fuel cost, powering front-wheel drive through a six-speed automatic transmission.
The High-Performance Elantra N Model
However, if you're looking for a little extra in the excitement stakes, the upcoming Elantra N model builds on the existing Elantra blueprint by adding a 2.0L turbo engine making 276 horsepower and 289lb-ft. This high-performance mill is married to either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, along with upgraded suspension take the Elantra lineup to an entirely new level of performance.Fuel Economy
The 2022 Elantra boasts an attractive set of fuel economy figures, with the leading gas model capable of 7.1L / 100km in the city and 5.5L / 100km on the highway. However, opt for the hybrid powertrain and your fuel costs will be slashed, with estimated figures of 4.4L in the city and 4.2L on the highway.Advanced Infotainment Technology
All 2022 Elantra models are fitted with an infotainment touchscreen display, sized at 8" in the entry-level models with an upgrade to 10.3" available. Smartphone integration is standard across the range through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot facility, voice recognition for major controls, and seat heating. And finally, the standard dash layout can be upgraded to include a configurable10.3" digital gauge cluster.Active Safety and Driver Assist
